Our UK Partners
OHOB is proud to be working alongside and supporting various refugee aid groups and organisations across the South West
Refugee Aid Groups:
We are a grass roots movement working with other Facebook groups across the UK to get aid to across to Europe and Syria. As well as linking up with groups locally we also stay in close touch with what is happening in Greece, Syria and France to make sure we get the aid to where it is needed the most.
Locally we work very closely with:
Wadebridge Refugee Aid Project – Cornwall
OHOB works closely with the Wadebridge Cornish Refugee Aid Project. They supported our very first collection and shipment to Calais. They understand that if we work together we can at the very least provide some clothing, and shelter. They have a number of donation points across Cornwall and work tirelessly to collect, sort and send aid. Together we have filled 4 containers of aid for Syria.
OHOB works closely with Refugee Aid to collect and send aid to where it is needed the most. A Penzance born organisation with a mission to take support to refugees where it is most needed, without any large organisational costs, Refugee Aid supports people who are experiencing physical & emotional hardships through loss of home, belongings & family.
Launceston Refugee Support Group
LSRG is local people getting together to take action in support of refugees. They were inspired by the desperate situation of refugees but also by the success of Bude Refugee Support Group. They have come together to not only collect and send aid but to campaign to settle Syrian families in Launceston.
South Cornwall Helping Refugees
This group was originally set up for a group of volunteers from Fowey, Tywardreath and Par to communicate between each other (and then between similar small groups in Falmouth, Penzance and Saltash), to offer help and to spread donations – particularly to respond to shout outs for clothes or food or muscle power. They now fundraise to support Syrian aid relief charities and help wth collections and donations for container aid.
QStore (formerly Quickstore) kindly provide us with storage space and all our containers leave from the business centre. We have had the great pleasure of working alongside them for over a year now and their support and has been amazing. Everyone at OHOB is thankful for all the amazing directors and staff members at QStore. The ladies at QStore are so helpful and accommodating, it is a pleasure to be partnered with them.
DS Smith supply us with cardboard boxes for each container of aid. So far they have supplied us with 1000 cardboard boxes which have been used to send aid to Syria, France and Greece. Their support has helped ensure that we can save time and keep costs down so that we can get aid to where it is needed.
Armadillo Self Storage (Part of Big Yellow)
Armadillo storage in Plymouth, Torquay and Exeter (formerly Quickstore) have been providing donation points since February 2015. The guys at each storage unit are great, they have been so supportive and ensure that all items dropped off are on our list.
